The AI aims for realistic colors based on its training data, but it's an interpretation. It may not perfectly match the original scene's colors if they were unknown. Results are often impressive but can sometimes be approximate.

Does it work on sepia-toned images?

It primarily works best on true black and white (grayscale) images. Sepia tones might affect the colorization accuracy. You could try converting sepia images to grayscale first using our Grayscale Converter.
